The snake charmer
Raj lived in a white house near the river Ganges with his wife, Akba. They were very rotten, but happy. Raj's life earned snake charmer. Every morning I walked to the town square with his flute, his mat and poisonous snake in a jar. Upon arrival, he unrolled the mat, sat, uncorked the vessel and began to play the flute.
The people were coming to watch. The snake was slowly removing the vessel head, swaying to the rhythm of music. As they knew it was a very poisonous snake, always they threw coins without getting too close.
At dusk Raj stopped playing. The snake disappeared into the vessel; Raj put the cap, roll up the mat and with the flute under his arm, returned home.
One night, after dinner, Raj told his wife: "Akba, tomorrow I will go to town; there I can have more audience and make more money. "
Raj left at dawn. He came to the city, he sat on the market and began to play the flute: to point the snake out of the vessel and dancing to a large crowd gathered around him. Between laughter and applause, they threw piles of gold coins. Raj had never seen so much money in his life.
At dusk, Raj met all the gold, picked up the vessel, the mat and flute, and ran home. He did not realize that there were three robbers watching. "That snake charmer has a lot of gold. Let's steal "one of them muttered. And they followed him home Raj. Raj showed Akba gold given to him in the market. He got thrilled: "We are rich! Eat plenty and we can buy us new clothes, "Raj hugging crying. Then put the gold in a large vessel, "Tomorrow we'll find a safe place to hide," he said without realizing that the three robbers were spying from the window. That night, when I had gone to bed, Akba heard a noise outside the home. "What has it been that Raj?" Asked alarmed. "It will be a stray, go to sleep," said Raj yawning. "I'm worried about gold," said Akba. He got out of bed and picked up the pot of gold. But seeing the vessel of the snake, he thought: "This is just as valuable, thanks to the serpent have won all that gold", and went both to the attic, thinking they would be safer there. Then he went back to bed and fell asleep.
Outside, the thieves were whispering among themselves. "That fool has gold in the attic," said one of them. "We'll have to jump on each other's shoulders to reach the window," said another. "I am the least. I will ascend above the other two, I'll just pop out the window and you'll spend the vessel ". Trying to make as little noise as possible, the robbers carried out their plan. The smallest robber seized the vessel, and all hurried back to his lair.
"We are rich, we're rich!", They celebrated bouncing. One of them lifted the lid of the vessel to watch the money, but instead of gold found a poisonous snake.
"Save yourself who can!" He shouted. The three thieves were so frightened that shot out of his den, forest road, and was never seen again.
The next morning, Raj went upstairs to bring back the snake to the city. "Here there is only a vessel," he said calling Akba. "Someone had to mount the other." Akba lifted the lid of the jar and looked inside. It was full of gold. "They have stolen the wrong vessel, a surprise will be out!" Laughed Akba.
Raj unrolled the mat outside the house, he sat down and started playing the flute. Soon, the serpent came zigzagging. Raj picked it up and put it in the pot, all ready for a day.
